A gorgeous day in the Foothills of California played host to Alex and Ryan’s beautiful wedding at The Monte Verde Inn in Foresthill, CA. Alex and Ryan are young, educated, and loving, and I am just as excited to know them as I was to take these photos at their wedding!

Thanks to Sarah Dawson for helping me shoot this wedding and getting this great shot of Alex dashing off to say I Do!

The indoor banquet room of the Monte Verde Inn Wedding venue looks just as amazing as an empty room… Alex owns this window!

Ryan’s mom hand-folded the paper cranes and created this display to honor Ryan’s part Japanese heritage…wonderful work mom!

And I can never blog a Monte Verde Inn Wedding without showing owner Kelly Dalisa‘s awesome cake-making skills! I mean…seariously? Those are edible flowers? You rock Kelly!

Joe Kalamaras of SJ Disc Jockey helped keep the party going and kept the guest entertained with this photo booth until they shut the place down!

I have a new blog!

As some of you may have noticed, my blog got a major facelift, as did my entire branding package in general! My blog is the first piece to roll out, and I and soooo stoked with the outcome! I worked with Reborn Studios to create something that I really felt was a better representation of who I am, without being too in-your-face about being a photographer. It is also self-containing, meaning visiting my website is basically optional at this point, and all manner of website-type functionality is here… feel free to click around, and check stuff out!

The colors are lighter and more neutral, and everything feels so much more casual. Like me (= The thought bubble represents my perpetual mind….constantly thinking about my next photo, next meal, next pair of Vans, etc. I’m super stoked about the updates!

Monte Verde Inn Wedding Photography:Crystal and Conor

Normally, my Independence Day consisted of street fireworks, swimming, bowls of various chips that eventually become a bunch of crumbles, the smell of sunscreen and sulfur, and kids running around with sparklers. This year, I had a change of pace. I was still celebrating new beginnings, but not the new beginnings of our country. This year, I celebrated the new beginning of married life for Crystal and Conor, and helped Jessica Moores from Stout Photography document their wedding day at the beautiful Monte Verde Inn. I loved their colors, and their details, and they were both an absolute pleasure to shoot and be around! Crystal was nervous about getting her dress dirty, but she got some coaching from her bridesmaid and sister-in-law, Sarah Chen, who is a very talented wedding photographer herself! I had a great time working, so she must’ve had a fabulous time attending a wedding without being “at work”

Don’t their colors just POP! I love this scheme, and Crystal told me she searched far and wide for, above all things, the neckties. Good find girl!

High five baby, we just got married!!!

Kelis the wedding coordinator at Monte Verde Inn, and she makes these gorgeous cakes herself…. I heart heart heart this cake!

Crystal and Conor, you two are going to have a fabulous marriage, and I’m so thankful that I witnessed day 1.
